The San Fernando Community
If you’re new to the area, welcome! We are excited to have you. Here at our location in southern Pima County, we’ve seen a lot of growth over the years. In the middle of the 18th century, the surrounding area of Pima County received a lot of interest because of the silver and gold discovered in the region, which led to an increase in development. The area has been growing ever since.
From hiking the mountains to strolling through our beautiful wildlife, the San Fernando Community has a lot of exciting opportunities to offer our community members.
Our community and surrounding land is full of wonder and natural beauty. Here's just a sample of the great things we have to offer:
With sparrows flocking in winter to antelope playing, Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge is truly incredible. The refuge’s additions in 1985 protect valuable wetland and riparian habitats at Arivaca Creek, Arivaca Cienega, and Brown Canyon. Made up of grasslands, wetlands, cottonwood-lined streambeds, and sycamore and live oak mountain canyons, this preservation is rare find in the Southwest.
Not every community is privileged to have the Baboquivari Mountains in its skyline. These mountains are the western-most of the Sky Island mountain ranges in southern Arizona.
These unique mountains contain three different ranges: the Quinlan Mountains with Kitt Peak, the Pazo Verde Mountains at the Mexican border, and the intervening Baboquivari Mountains that culminate at Baboquivari Peak. It is truly an amazing sight!
Located on South Sasabe Highway and expanding 10 acres, Three Points Veterans Memorial Park is a great place to spend the weekend with your family. Whether you are looking for a place to play sports with your kids or have a picnic, you will find what you are looking for. Park facilities include:
