Learn More About Our School

San Fernando Elementary School District has been serving families in the Arivaca and Pima County communities for over 100 years. In 2007, we built a new home to ensure we meet state standards and provide our students with a welcoming, engaging environment.

Surrounded by the Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge, we offer our students a soothing, open environment that promotes learning.

Below you will learn more about our methodology and programs that promote educational excellence.

Talk It Out Methodology

When students feel they can solve a situation on their own, we encourage our students to go to a room to “talk it out.”

We’ve found students can often solve their own problems. All they need is to be able to talk to the other person in a quiet, private place that is out of the presence of other students.

We believe conflicts do not have to result in fights. We strive to empower students to be good problem solvers. We encourage our students to use our peer counseling, talk situations out privately, and communicate situations with school personnel.

School Library

San Fernando is privileged to have a school library with a wealth of wonderful books. It is a nice place to visit, and we encourage students to utilize the library for reading and research. Generally, we allow students to check out one or two books at a time unless they have special permission from the teachers. Come check it out for yourself!

Parent Teacher Association

The San Fernando Elementary Parent Teacher Organization invites all kindergarten through eighth grade parents to attend our monthly meetings. We meet the second Tuesday of the month at 3:30 p.m.

Education is a team effort, and our PTA helps us bring teachers and parents together, ensuring we provide the highest quality education for our students.

If you are interested in joining our PTA, please contact our office manager. We hope to see you at our next meeting!
